The University of Minnesota is one of the most beautiful campuses in all of the United States. It offers a quintessential college experience in the heart of the Midwest.
The University prides itself on their campus life to make it appealing to students looking at the school and students already on campus. The campus has many amenities, modern facilities, architectural diversity, artistic spaces, and well-landscaped grounds.
The University is also full of natural beauty as the Mississippi River runs through the heart of the campus. Around the river, the University has added walking and biking trails for students to get in touch with nature. Since the seasons in Minnesota are constantly changing, it offers many changes to the campus as a whole. There are new things to be seen whether it is the summer, fall, winter, and even in the spring.
I enjoy the fall atmosphere the best in terms of the look on campus. Vibrant colors on the trees such as red, orange, and yellow make the campus look even better and more enjoyable to walk through and see. Aside from the natural beauty of the campus, University facilities management professionals work hard on the appearance of their class halls and structures.
The University of Minnesota has a rich history of academic buildings that have been around since the 1800s and the 1900s.
Some of these historic buildings at the University of Minnesota are Pillsbury Hall, which was built in 1889; Folwell Hall, which has been around since 1907; and Walter Library, which was constructed in 1924. These halls are very different from each other by their architectural style which adds to the rich history and diversity of the University.
The University’s diversity of class halls offers students an enriching and diverse learning environment and experience for any hall they have class in.
Now, knowing the background of the University and the care and effort that staff put into making the campus look appealing, I will give my list of which buildings I like the most. I have not been in all of the learning halls, so this list pertains to the coursework that I have completed and halls that I have been in.
A hall that I have spent a lot of time in during my college career is Bruininks Hall. Bruininks Hall is very visually appealing as it is mostly glass on the outside, and it is stationed at the beginning of the bridge over the Mississippi River. The hall features a modern look inside and spiral staircase that stretches through its five stories.
Another hall that I really like is The Carlson School of Management building. The Carlson School of Management building’s design stands out among the historic buildings that surround it from its modern aesthetic which makes it visually stunning to anyone. The inside of the building is stunning to say the least. The inside area is an essential space for students to gather with high ceilings, an abundant amount of natural light, and comfortable seating areas.
Another hall I like is the Molecular and Cellular Biology building. From the outside, one can tell that it is the molecular and cellular biology building by the molecule sculpture outside. I think this is a very nice touch to the building; as a whole, it incorporates art along with learning as it stretches across and forms an arch over the entrance of the building.
Overall, these are my favorite buildings on campus. I’m sure that as I keep taking classes at the University of Minnesota, I will discover many more buildings that I appreciate because of the environment that comes along with them.
The University of Minnesota is truly one of the nicest campuses I have ever been to, and it has been a pleasure experiencing it over my college career.
